Economics and business forum in Hoče, Slovenia
On Wednesday, June 18, the Municipality of Hoče-Slivnica, SABA and the Slovenian Global Business Network - SGBN from Sao Paulo, Brazil organized an economic a forum on the topic of international business
The business forum was held in the hall of the new Fire Station in Bohova. The forum itself was attended by around 15 companies, mostly from the Styria-Prekmurje region, as well as from the Gorenje part of Slovenia.
Dr. Marko Soršak, the mayor of the Hoče-Slivnica municipality, in his welcoming remarks, emphasized the importance of international business and networking with entrepreneurs of Slovenian roots around the world. He particularly highlighted the importance of exports by Slovenian companies, which is much greater than consumption or sales on the internal market of Slovenia.
SABA was presented by our own president of the SABA Board of Directors Jurček Žmauc, who explained our purpose, organization, programs and goals. SABA's activities in 2022 will again focus on the organization of delegations. Presentations of Slovenia as an economic, tourist and investment destination will be back on the program. SABA is in close cooperation with the Public Agency SPIRIT, which confirms and supports the operations Slovenian business clubs in the USA and around the world.
Dr. Štefan Šalej, president of SGBN and a conscious Slovene living in Brazil for over 60 years, presented and emphasized the importance of the Slovenian economic diaspora in the world. Such dispora can represent an important potential for the Slovenian economy in the development of the economy at home in Slovenia, and especially in penetrating foreign markets.
Mateya Slobodnik, president of the Slovenian Australian Chamber of Commerce from Sydney, Australia, and Rajesh Sharma, representative of The corporate group from Dubai, UAE, also joined the forum via zoom. Both parties presented their organization and the possibility of cooperation with Slovenian companies.
