Slovenian American Business Association – SABA, together with the Sajko tourist agency and the Slovenian Tourist Agency – STO, and the local restaurant Metro Café (El Segundo), held two presentations of Slovenia as a tourist destination on October 23 and 25, 2025, in Los Angeles, California, USA, after 2023 and 2024, with culinary delights by chef Alma Rekić. The event presented top-notch Slovenian cuisine and top-notch Slovenian wines (Movia, Simčič, Batič, Štoka, and Črnko). As an addition to the event, there was a good business move by the company Conditus from Bled, which managed to (for the first time) export the original Bled cream puffs to the USA and offer them to guests at both events (related to Luka Dončić‘s statement on the show “Hot Ones”). We are especially proud that among the guests were Slovenians living in California, including Dr. Jernej Barbič, winner of the first Slovenian Oscar, and Anže Rozman and his wife, both world-renowned composers, as well as members and friends of the Kopitar family. From Slovenia, the owner of the company 4innovations used the events to present his product, and the mayor of the municipality of Beltinci used the events to establish new business contacts and potential partners for international projects in the Prekmurje region. Thus, at both events, a total of over 60 visitors from the Slovenian community, tourism and business expressed their desire that the events would continue as a tradition and be held in 2026.
