SABA project “Gostilna Slovenia in US”
Between February 23 and 29, 2024, SABA once again promoted Slovenia with the help of Slovenian cuisine. This time the promotion was carried out by Boštjan Volk from the well-known Volk restaurant in Plešivac and 2023 European Champion Young Chef, Tristan Romih, 2022 European Champion in restaurant skills and Mojca Polak, a professor at VSGT in Maribor.

Three events took place during the visit.
On February 25, 2024, a dinner at Vincent William, which was a private dinner for potential investors.
On February 27, 2024, when Luka Dončić and his club Dallas Mavericks visited Cleveland and played against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Rocket Mortgage Arena, the team from Slovenia prepared typical Slovenian culinary specialties for around 2,000 guests in three clubs (Huntington Club, Courtside Club and Westfield Club. Here, a big thank you goes to our supporter and friend Michel Husney, head chef at the Cleveland Cavaliers, for organizing the event.
On February 29, 2024, SABA together with the team held a traditional dinner and promotion of Slovenia and Slovenian cuisine at one of the oldest Slovenian organizations in the USA, SNPJ, in Imperial, in the US state of Pennsylvania. They were founded in 1904 and so this year they are celebrating 120 years of existence.
Since 2018, when the project “Gostilna Slovenia in the US” started, SABA has held 23 events at which it hosted and entertained over 2,500 satisfied Americans.
In 2024, a visit to San Francisco is being prepared, where together with ASEF we would organize a gala dinner at Stanford University.
