After Slovenian chefs from Gostilna Rajh in November 2018 and Gostilna Šempeter in March 2019, in February 2020 SABA organized visit and gourmet events of Gostilna Repovž. Meta and Grega Repovž (mom and son) prepared Slovenian food for around 300 people at three events. This is next step in SABA project “Gostilna Slovenija in US”, supported from Slovenian SPIRIT Agency.

When Cleveland Cavaliers played at home against Miami Heat on February 24, 2020 (big NBA star at Heat is Slovenian player Goran Dragić) they prepared characteristic Slovenian food for member at Huntington Legends Club in Rocket Mortgage Filed House (with help of Michael Husney, chef at Aramark). After the game we met Goran Dragić and he got Slovenian desert Snowballs and Jurček Žmauc, SABA president gave him a bottle of pumpkin oil from company Oljarna Fram, some bottles of good Slovenian wine from winemaker Silvo Črnko from Jarenina and a book from Nina Kolenc, Maribor lady, former basketball player.

On February 27, 2020 we made a dinner at SNPJ in Imperial, PA. More than 85 guests enjoyed Slovenian food like Essih Flajš, beef soup, lamb with polenta nad always at the end snowballs. For amazing event and food Repovž family got congratulations from Joe Evanish, SNPJ president.

Traditional last event for Slovenian chefs is always dinner at Bratenahl Place Bistro (Gino Antonelli, owner and chef). Meta and Grega Repovž prepared 5 course menu and Slovenian wine was served to main course (Črnko).

Gostilna Repovž, located in a small city called Šentjanž, Dolenjska region in Slovenia is a family affair with over a hundred years of tradition already behind it, the richness of the countryside is multiplied by an awareness of knowledge of food and wine added to superb ingredients straight from the most ecological of farms making a terrific experience all round. Wine is produced in its own vineyards, and there is even three-star accommodation on site for those who fancy drinking more than just a sample.
